Hi, I’m Sharon Ona, MS, CNS, LDN
I’m a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist who combines science-based training with a practical, supportive approach to help people improve their health and energy through diet and lifestyle. I specialize in ADHD-informed nutrition care and cardiometabolic health.
My Journey to Private Practice
Shortly after completing my education and training, I founded Sharon Ona Functional Nutrition, LLC to support high-functioning adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burned out. Many of my clients are ADHD or neurodivergent or are managing cardiometabolic conditions such as high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes.
As an ADHD-informed functional nutritionist, I combine evidence-based nutrition therapy with executive function–friendly planning, organization, time management, goal setting, and progress monitoring. Instead of rigid meal plans or “perfect” routines, we build realistic systems that reduce decision fatigue, support energy levels and blood sugar regulation, and make follow-through easier, even on low-energy or high-stress days.
Today, I work with adults looking for sustainable weight management, metabolic health support, and ADHD-friendly nutrition care. Whether your goals include improving labs, managing type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, addressing fatty liver, or creating structure around food and self-care, we focus on progress that feels doable and supportive, not overwhelming.
I offer both insurance-based nutrition counseling and private-pay services, making care accessible for clients seeking a Certified Nutrition Specialist who works in ADHD, neurodivergence, and cardiometabolic health.
What I Do
I’ve successfully helped clients lower their A1c, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce pain, improve energy levels, eliminate brain fog, lose weight, manage cholesterol, and return to active lifestyles.
My aim is to provide guidance and support while helping my clients figure out eating patterns that help them feel their best physically and emotionally. Clients describe my approach as supportive, friendly, empowering, and educational; rooted in evidence-based nutrition science and delivered with care. I combine clinical training and a national board certification with real-life, practical tools that make nutrition and lifestyle changes manageable day-to-day
My Approach
I take time to listen and help people problem-solve in creative ways. I value progress over perfection and believe small, consistent steps lead to lasting change, particularly for clients navigating executive dysfunction, burnout, or chronic health conditions.
I approach food, nutrition, and health with a dose of levity. Talking with me in session is often described as being like talking to a trusted friend. I provide a judgment-free space where clients can feel comfortable and supported while receiving clear, evidence-based guidance.
